I COULDN'T DECIDE WHICH COSY JUMPER TO CHOOSE — SO I TRIED ALL THREE

I’ve never written anything like this before, and I should probably say straight away that I’m certainly no fashion expert.

But over the past few weeks, several friends have asked me about the jumpers I’ve been wearing — especially the same question: “If you were only choosing one, which would you get?”

The funny thing is that this was exactly the challenge I faced when I first discovered them.

I wanted something cosy and easy to wear with jeans or trousers, without looking too plain. The shape was exactly what I was looking for — the hard part was choosing the pattern.

Every time I settled on one, another caught my eye. So, in the end, I bought all three.

After wearing them at home, out for coffee and with friends, I realised that although the shape is similar, each pattern gives a completely different feel.

So, after answering the same question a few times, I thought I’d share what I liked about each one — and which I’d choose depending on the occasion.

Three different patterns — and somehow, each one feels completely different once you put it on.

That was the part I hadn’t expected. When I first saw them, I thought I was simply choosing between different patterns. But once I started wearing them, I realised each one gave me a slightly different look.

One became my easy, everyday choice. One was perfect when I wanted a little more colour. And the third surprised me completely.

So, if you’re trying to choose between them too, here’s what I found with each one.

THE ONE I KEEP REACHING FOR

This was the first one that caught my eye — and probably the one I’ve worn the most since.

I think it’s the mix of colours that makes it so easy. The cream keeps it soft, the green adds a little colour, and the warm stripes make it feel more interesting than the plain jumpers I usually reach for.

I’ve worn it with jeans, cream trousers and darker trousers, and somehow it seems to work with all three.

If you like a little colour but still want something that’s easy to match with what you already own, this is the one I’d start with.

The one that seems to work with almost everything I already own.

What surprised me most was how quickly it stopped feeling like something “new” in my wardrobe.

I wore it for coffee with a friend one afternoon, and she asked where I’d found it before we’d even sat down. That made me laugh, because I’d spent so long wondering whether the pattern might be a little too much for me.

It turns out it was exactly the opposite — it was the easiest one to feel comfortable in.

THE ONE I NEARLY DIDN’T CHOOSE

I wasn’t sure about this one at first.

Green isn’t usually the first colour I reach for, and because there’s more of it here than in the first jumper, I wondered whether it might be harder to wear.

I was completely wrong.

The different shades make it much softer than I expected, and I actually love that this one feels a little more noticeable without being too bright.

I’ve found it looks especially lovely with cream, white and darker trousers — and it’s the one I choose when I want a bit more colour.

The one I nearly skipped.

There’s something else I noticed with this one: people seem to notice it too.

I wore it out for lunch one weekend and a friend immediately said, “That colour really suits you.” It was funny, because this was the one I’d been least certain about ordering.

Since then, I’ve stopped thinking of green as a colour I “don’t really wear”.

Sometimes the one you wouldn’t normally choose is exactly the one that feels the freshest.

THE ONE I KNEW I’D WEAR STRAIGHT AWAY

This one was different. I didn’t need convincing.

Black, white and grey are already colours I wear all the time, so I knew immediately that it would fit into my wardrobe.

What I liked was that it still didn’t feel plain. The pattern does all the work, even when everything else I’m wearing is simple.

I’ve worn it with black trousers, jeans and white trousers, and this is probably the one I find easiest to dress up a little.

If you normally stick to neutral colours but still want something that feels interesting, this would be my choice.

My usual colours — just far more interesting than my usual jumper.

This is also the one I reach for when I don’t really know what to wear.

I can keep everything else simple and somehow still feel properly dressed. No matching colours, no wondering whether something clashes — it just works.

And perhaps that’s why I liked it immediately. It feels familiar enough to be comfortable, but different enough that I don’t feel as though I’m wearing the same old thing again.

FOUR THINGS I’VE LEARNED SINCE

One. The sizing is honest. It runs from a S to 5XL, and it is the same cut the whole way up, not a different shape once you pass a certain number. I wish more places would bother with that.

Two. Patterns are much easier to wear than I thought.

I used to think anything with this much going on needed careful matching. It doesn’t. Jeans, simple trousers, comfortable shoes — that’s really all I’ve needed. The jumper does the rest.

Three. The one you’re least sure about might surprise you.
For me, that was the green. It was the furthest from what I’d normally choose, and somehow it’s become the one I reach for whenever I want a little more colour. I’m rather glad I didn’t talk myself out of it.

Four. I’ve worn them far more than I expected — which brings me to the price.
This was the part I thought about most before ordering. One jumper is easy enough to justify. Three, admittedly, required a little more thought.

But I kept coming back to the same thing: these weren’t clothes I was buying for one dinner or one special occasion. They were the sort of jumpers I could wear for coffee, around the house, into town, or simply with jeans on an ordinary day.

And after wearing them as much as I have, the price makes rather more sense to me now than it did when I first saw them.

Three patterns — and I’ve ended up finding a place for every one of them.

ABOUT THE PRICE

I want to be straightforward about this, because it was probably the thing that made me hesitate most.

They’re currently €34.95. They were €115.00.

My first thought, honestly, was that there had to be a catch. You can walk into plenty of high street shops and pay considerably more for a jumper, so seeing these at that price made me wonder what I was missing.

I did what I imagine you might be doing now and went straight to the reviews before I ordered. There were +4000 of them, with an average rating of 4.5 stars.

Not a suspiciously perfect five, either — which, if I’m honest, made me trust them rather more. Thousands of different customers, different opinions, and an overall rating that was still very good.

So I ordered.

And somehow, one jumper turned into three.

WHAT I WOULD TELL YOU IF WE WERE FRIENDS

If you and I were sitting down over a cup of tea and you asked me which one you should choose, this is probably what I would say.

If you’ve spent the last few years reaching for the same plain jumpers because they’re easy, not necessarily because you love wearing them, have a look at these.

Not because a jumper is going to change your wardrobe overnight. It won’t. But I’d forgotten how nice it is to put something on that feels comfortable and familiar, while still being a little different from everything else I own.

If you want something easy to wear with almost anything, I’d start with the cream, green and striped one. If you’ve been wanting to bring a little more colour into what you wear, I’d look at the green. And if you’re happiest in neutrals, but don’t want another completely plain jumper, the black, white and grey would be my choice.

Whichever one you find yourself going back to while you’re looking at the photos is probably the one I’d choose.

And if you end up unable to decide between them, well...

you now know exactly how I ended up with all three.
